Tampa Training CNA Program

Tampa Training, in collaboration with ICCE and United Way Suncoast, offers a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program targeted at addressing the shortage of CNAs in the Tampa Bay Area. This partnership ensures that eligible residents from Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, and Desoto counties can receive full scholarships, making the program accessible to those in need.

The program’s primary goal is to equip students with the necessary skills to serve effectively in various healthcare settings, including nursing homes, rehab facilities, and hospitals.

Program Details and Benefits

The CNA training at Tampa Training spans 84 hours covering classroom instruction, lab work, and online components. An optional 40-hour clinical setting experience is also offered. The comprehensive program not only prepares students for the state licensing exam but also qualifies them to work as Home Health Aides immediately upon completion. Scheduled over a two month time period, classes run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Financial Support and Additional Services

Thanks to United Way Suncoast, students benefit from full scholarships that cover all educational expenses, including scrubs, textbooks, and other materials. Additional support services such as career navigation, job placement assistance, soft skills training, financial coaching, and individual support are also provided. While students initially bear the costs of background checks and drug screening, these are reimbursed upon successful completion of the program.

Application Process

Prospective students must follow a structured application process starting with viewing an informational video and attending a Microsoft Teams session. Post-session, applicants can apply for a scholarship by submitting an application along with their resume and references. Following a brief interview and conditional upon passing the initial background and drug screenings, successful candidates will be enrolled in the program with fees fully covered.
